IMPERATIVOS:
INSTRUCTIONAL LANGUAGE /LENGUAJE DE INSTRUCCIÓN
La forma de expresar el lenguaje de instrucción es utilizando el verbo en uno de sus modos, el imperativo. En el discurso académico las instrucciones se restringen básicamente a ejercicios en libros, manuales de laboratorios, manuales de maquinarias, etc.
SUJETO (TÁCITO) + VERBO + COMPLEMENTO
La naturaleza del discurso de instrucciones proporciona al lector dos tipos diferentes de información: instrucciones e información instruccional.
1.- INSTRUCCIONES: se define como instrucción la manera de hacer que alguien haga o no algo.
1.1.- DIRECTAS: se utiliza el modo imperativo de los verbos. Normalmente esta forma de instrucciones viene expresada en forma de lista.
Ej: .- Make sure extension leads are fully unwound to avoid overheating.
Asegúrese que los cables de extensión estén totalmente desenrollados para evitar sobrecalentamiento.
.- Unplug equipment before you do any repairs on it.
Desenchufe el equipo antes de realizar cualquier reparación sobre éste.
1.2.- INDIRECTAS: se caracterizan por el uso de verbos modales, voz pasiva o una combinación de ambas, es decir modales en pasivo. Por lo general la estructura está dada en forma de párrafo.
Ej: .- A calibrator may be used to regulate the voltage. (Modal pasivo)
Se puede usar un calibrador para regular el voltaje.
.- The oil pressure light may be on, but should go out alter a few seconds. (Modal)
La luz de la presión del aceite puede encenderse, más debería apagarse unos segundos después.
.- Eye protection is required at all times. (Voz pasiva)
Se requiere de protección en los ojos todo el tiempo.
LENGUAJE INSTRUCCIONAL:
Es la información que ayuda al lector a comprender las instrucciones dadas en un texto y que viene expresada en forma resumida en: precauciones, advertencias, afirmaciones específicas, descripciones y consideraciones teóricas. En este tipo de lenguaje las instrucciones vienen dadas tanto en forma directa como indirecta.
Ej: Caution: this circuit will short out under any overload.
Precaución: este circuito hará cortocicuito bajo cualquier sobrecarga.
Warning: Do not use the intake duct as a shelf for Tools.
Advertencia: No utilice los ductos de entrada como estantes para herramientas.
(Normalmente este tipo viene expresado en forma negativa)
