Time/Hora. Days of the week/días de la semana. Months of the year/meses del año.

Time / Hora:

Para preguntar la hora:
what time is it?
Para responder:
It is two o'clock. Se usa la palabra o'clock cuando la hora es en punto.
It is half past two. Se usa half past cuando ha pasado media hora.
It is (a) quarter past two. Se usa (a) quarter past cuando han pasado 15 minutos.
It is fifteen past two. También se usa esta forma(colocando el numero) cuando han pasado 15 minutos.
It is (a) quarter to three. Se usa (a) quarter to cuando faltan 15 minutos para la siguiente hora.
It is fifteen to three. También se usa esta forma (colocando el numero) caundo faltan 15 minutos para la siguiente hora.

Days of the week / días de la semana:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
Para preguntar que día es hoy se dice:

What day is today?
It is Monday.

Que día fue ayer:
What day was yesterday?
It was Sunday.

Que día será mañana:
What day will be tomorrow?
It will be Tuesday.

Los días de la semana siempre se escriben con la primera letra en mayuscula.
Normalmente se usa la preposición on antes del día.
Ej: meet me on Monday.

Months of the year / Meses del año:

January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December.

Para preguntar por el mes en que estamos se dice:
What month is it?
It is October.

Cuando es tu cumpleaños?
When is your birthday?
It is in March.

Los meses del año siempre se escriben con la primera letra en mayuscula.
Normalmente se usa la preposición in

Ej: My birthday is in March.

Pero si decimos la fecha decimos:

My birthday is on 10th March.

Describing places and animals / Descripción de lugares y animales

Good afternoon... A continuación encontrarás párrafos que te indican como se describe a un animal y a un lugar.

Describing an animal / descripción de un animal:
Linda is a nice girl. She has a new pet. Her pet is a small dog. Its name is coqui. It's grey and its eyes are black. Coqui is very intelligent.

Describing a place / descripción de un lugar:

My name is Jenny Parker and this is my house. It's on Bolivar Avenue opposite the park. My house is nice and comfortable. There are two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. Downstairs there is the living-room, the dining room and the kitchen. The living-room is my favorite. It has the television, the DVD, my new stereo, a couch and...the telephone. Behind the house there is a big yard with some trees. In front of the house there is a pretty garden with many flowers.
